Curator — The 2019 and 2021 World Cities Culture Report

This comprehensive report gathers evidence on 60 cultural indicators, assessing both the supply of and demand for culture, and reporting the thinking of cultural policymakers in those places. Most recently, we are joining forces with Americans for the Arts (AFTA) on a new research project to explore cultural asset mapping and asset-based approaches for recovery and renewal. In re-imagining our efforts, which center racial equity and the valuing of historically underrepresented communities within urban, suburban, rural, and tribal geographies, we are developing a comprehensive set of tools and resources to support cultural planners, intermediaries, funders, artists, activists, and organizers in crafting and designing locally led cultural assets initiatives that center community priorities.

Cultural Asset Mapping Project (CAMP) (in-progress):

We are creating a series of story maps that will highlight the major changes between the 2018 CAMP data and 2022/23 data. By implementing a multimodal methodology including interviews, short discussions, and video/audio/written submissions from members of these assets, we will help convey an accurate narrative depicting pre/post pandemic.
